The name was later changed to The Four Tielman Brothers in 1957 with the formation of four brothers: Andy Tielman (lead guitar, vocals), Reggy Tielman (2nd lead guitar, vocals), Ponthon Tielman (double bass, vocals), Loulou Tielman (drums, vocals). Tielman Brothers finally made their name in 1960.



The band's career started in Surabaya, when 5 Tielman brothers started playing the songs and showing traditional dances. Their show continues, until eventually they become The Rhythm Timor Brothers and toured throughout the camp, soldiers of the Netherlands. In 1949 they played in Jakarta, but not for the Netherlands, but for the people of Indonesia. Unfortunately, they had to move to the Netherlands in 1957. The move was made because of Herman Tielman, father and Manager of the Tielman brothers, argued that the future of her children is more assured in the land of windmills. Jane died in 1993 and Loulou followed a year later in Australia. Ponthon himself died in Jember, East Java in 2000.
